Spread the love

I will be discussing on how to stop feeling incompetent and worthless, I’m discussing this because a lot of people have the potential to be successful in life but they don’t give it a try because they feel they are incompetent.

Feeling incompetent and worthless is mostly caused by you believing other people’s opinion about you. You should not let other peoples opinion define who you are instead, you should have a picture of who you want to be and continually work towards it.

You should know that you are not worthless but you have hidden potentials in you which you need to discover. The same thing happens to gold and diamond, they look worthless initially but when they are refined, they become very valuable.

Nobody has the right to make you feel you are worthless because you are special and unique in your own way. You have the potential to be the version of yourself.

So, do not give anybody the permission to make you feel worthless. Always have confidence in your abilities even when you fail because you can always learn from your failure and turn it to success.

You should see failing as a means of learning something new. When you have this attitude, you will have the confidence to face any challenge life throws your way.

Some tips to stop feeling incompetent and worthless

Below are some tips on how to stop feeling incompetent and worthless.

Read Books

It is important that you are knowledgeable in life because it gives you confidence.

Whenever you see people that lack confidence, it is because they are not sure o themselves.

You can’t be sure of yourself if you are not knowledge about life.

One of the best ways to get knowledge is by reading books or listening to audio books.

You can also get knowledge by watching videos or listening to other knowledgeable people.

Exercise regularly

Exercising is also one of the way to improve your self-worth.

Exercising help you develop a good body structure and also makes you stronger which will in turn build your confidence.

Some people feel worthless because of their body structure. For instance, some fat people feel bad when they see others looking smart and fit.

Whatever your size, it is good you do exercise regularly, it will definitely boost your confidence.

Exercising regularly also helps you reduce stress. When you are continuously stressed out, you can’t do much and this will affect your self-worth.

So, it is a good thing to exercise regularly and you should start today.

You can jog, walk, run, squat or even lift weight.

Forgive yourself

A lot of people do not forgive themselves easily when they make mistakes. For instance, you see someone in school that fails and it affects that person till he/she finishes school.

You shouldn’t allow bad experiences hold you back from where you intend to get to in life.

You should have it at the back of your mind that it is normal to fail sometimes but you should also be willing to learn from your failure and move forward.

When you fail, your response shouldn’t be that of a weak person which is to accept defeat, instead your response should be that if a strong person which is to shake it off and try again.

Forgiving yourself means knowing that you are human and can make mistakes. So, be gentle on yourself when you make mistakes.

It is not good enough that you forgive others, you also need to forgive yourself so that you can have peace and increase your self-worth.

Learn new skills

Skills are essential parts of human lives. You need skills to be able to build a good relationship with others.

Relationships are meant to be interdependent, which means it has to be mutually beneficial to all parties involved. One of the ways that can be achieved is development of skills by all parties involved.

For instance, some people do not have good communication skills therefore they find it hard to get along with others.

The good thing is you can develop whatever skills you intend to develop.

When you have skills, it builds your confidence and I will give you an example to buttress that.

I used to play football when I was younger and I developed good football skills over time. Then for several years, I stopped playing football.

The next time I went to play football, I was confused and I didn’t have the confidence to play for long because I wasn’t skilled in that aspect anymore.

My point is when you are skilled at doing something, you will be able to do it at any time even if you are just waking up from bed.

But when you are not skilled at something, you don’t have the confidence to do it when the crowd is there. You will notice you will get scared until you start getting better at doing it.

Always do your best

Most times, you might feel like not putting your best into what you do because you don’t want to use too much energy or because you just feel it’s not worth it.

The truth is that if you put your best in whatever you do, you will get good results and this will increase your self-confidence and self-worth.

If you also have a habit of not putting in your best at what you do, you will only average results and this in turn affect your self-worth negatively.

One thing about life is that one good result motivates you to get other good results. You can also say that success births more success.

The good is that failure can also give birth to success depending on how you handle it.

You should also avoid tasks that are not important to you. You should only the important things and put in your best when doing it.

You have all you need to become a success in life. All you have to do is develop yourself and grow into it.

Do not think someone else was created better than you. We were all created the same way and we are unique in our own way.

What you should know is that you have the ability to be the best at whatever you do but you need to develop capacity.

When develop your capacity, you will naturally feel more competent about yourself and it will also increase your self-worth.
