The Book of Esther is one of the most beloved books in the Bible. It tells the story of a young Jewish woman who was taken from her home and forced to become queen of Persia. Esther faced many challenges, but she ultimately used her position to save her people from destruction
Esther had the chance to turn her back on her people and save herself only instead, she choose the hard option which is saving her people even though it could cost he life.
There are many lessons we can learn from Esther’s story. Here are a few:
Never give up hope
Even when things seem hopeless, never give up hope. Esther faced many challenges, but she never gave up hope that she could save her people.
The king’s seal was already on the letter approving the annihilation of the Jewish descent in the Persian kingdom.
What that implies is that there can’t be reversal once the king approves a cause. But Esther was bold enough to present her request before the king even though the king gave his approval for annihilating the Jews initially.
Esther was a courageous woman who was willing to risk her life to save her people. She knew that the stakes were high, but she was willing to do whatever it took to help her people.
Esther was a young woman who was thrust into a very difficult situation. She could have easily given up or tried to hide from her problems, but she didn’t. She faced her challenges head-on and used her position to help her people.
Courage is not about your gender or how strong you are physically. Courage is the ability to move against the tides.
Esther could have given excuses which was the easy option for her to pick but the chose to help her people even though it wasn’t convenient for her.
Trust in God
Esther trusted in God to help her through her challenges. She knew that she could not do it on her own, and she turned to God for help.
Esther told Mordecai to ask the Jews to fast and pray with her before going to meet the king. She did not depend on her beauty or position instead she depended on God.
We should learn from this and always put our trust in God rather than in other people or ourselves. The Bible in Psalms 20:7 says “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.”
This scripture shows us that we are to trust in God and not the things we can see around us
Esther was a humble woman who was not afraid to ask for help. She knew that she could not do it all on her own, and she was willing to rely on others for help.
Esther could have stayed on her own because she was the queen and she won’t be affected by the attack made by Jews.
But she didn’t forget her background. She was willing to help her people when they were faced with challenges.
Another way Esther showed humility is by praying to God. Prayer simply means asking God to come to help you because you can’t do it alone.
We need to accept that we can’t achieve all we want by our strength instead we should get God involved to help. This is a true sign of humility from us.
Esther was a kind and compassionate woman who was always willing to help others. She showed kindness to everyone she met, even those who were different from her.
The Bible in Proverb:12:10 says “A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.”
We are meant to be kind to everyone around us even our animals. You can see that from the story of Esther, the was kind to her people.
Esther trusted in God even when things seemed hopeless. She knew that he was with her and that he would help her through her challenges.
Faith in simple terms means depending on God or standing on the word of God. Esther depended on God to deliver her people from the destruction that was planned against them.
In life, you will have challenges and you will need to have faith in God just like Esther did to overcome those challenges.
The Book of Esther is a powerful story that can teach us a lot about how to live our lives. It is a story of hope, courage, faith, and compassion. It is a story that can inspire us to be better people and to make a difference in the world.
It is a story of hope, courage, trust, humility, and kindness. It is a story that can inspire us to overcome our challenges and live our lives with integrity and compassion.
