7 Bible Promises to Hold On to During Hard Times

Sometimes life feels like a storm you didn’t see coming.

The kind of season that drains your strength, tests your faith, and leaves you wondering:

“Where is God in all of this?”

I’ve walked through some of those moments, too—times where it felt like nothing was moving, everything was silent, and my prayers were bouncing off the ceiling.

But you know what I’ve learned?

God never leaves. His promises never fail. And there’s always hope—even when everything looks hopeless.

If you’re in a tough place right now, I want to remind you of 7 Bible promises that have carried me, comforted me, and reminded me that better days are ahead.

1. God Will Never Leave You

📖 “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” – Hebrews 13:5

You may feel alone. But you’re not.
God’s presence is with you—even in the silence.
He walks with you in the fire. He stands with you in the storm.
And even when others walk away, He stays.

2. God Will Give You Strength

📖 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

You don’t have to be strong all the time.
God knows when you’re tired. He sees when you’re trying.
And in your weakness, His strength shows up strong.

Lean on Him. Let him carry what you can’t.

3. God Will Give You Peace That Doesn’t Make Sense

📖 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:7

This promise is real.

Even when things aren’t okay, God can fill your heart with a peace that doesn’t make sense. A peace that holds you together. A peace that keeps you from falling apart.

Ask Him for it. He’s generous with peace.

4. God Will Protect You

📖 “No weapon formed against you shall prosper…” – Isaiah 54:17

The enemy may try. The storm may rise. But it won’t win.

You are covered. You are protected.
You are surrounded by angels you cannot see, and a God who never sleeps.

Hold on. You’re not going under—you’re coming out stronger.

5. God Will Turn It for Good

📖 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him…” – Romans 8:28

This may not feel good now. But God promises He will use it for good.

The heartbreak, the delay, the rejection, the disappointment—none of it will be wasted.

He’s writing a story that will make sense in the end. Trust the Author.

6. God Has a Plan for Your Life

📖 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord…” – Jeremiah 29:11

When life feels directionless, remember this:
God has a plan—even if you can’t see the full picture yet.

You are not lost. You are not forgotten.
Your path is not pointless.
He’s leading you step by step, even when the road seems dark.

7. This Season Won’t Last Forever

📖 “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” – Psalm 30:5

The night might feel long. But morning is coming.
The pain might feel endless. But healing is on the way.
The silence might feel heavy. But the breakthrough is nearer than you think.

Hold on. One more prayer. One more day. One more step.
God is working—even now.

Final Thoughts

You may feel like giving up.
You may be tired of holding on.
But I want you to remember this:

You’re not alone. You’re not forgotten. And this isn’t the end of your story.

Let these promises anchor you.
Let them speak louder than your fears.
And even when you can’t trace God’s hand, trust His heart.
