I have heard a lot of people debate on this issue and I feel like sharing my opinion. So, is breaking a promise a sin?

Before I share my thoughts, I want to state that you can make a promise to God, you can make a promise to man and you can also make a promise to yourself.

Promise is also referred to as a vow in the Bible. A promise means making a statement of intent, indicating that you will do something.

A promise is a commitment to do something or to behave in a certain way. It is a statement of intent that is made to another person or to oneself. Promises can be made verbally, in writing, or through actions.

A promise could also be as deep as making a covenant. A covenant is an agreement that is usually legal or binding for example a contract between two people. Another good example of a covenant is a marriage between a man and a woman.

I will be discussing these three scenarios differently so that we don’t mix things up.

To transform something means to change that thing into something else. So in simple terms, we can say transform means change.

God can call anyone unto Himself because he loves us but God does not want us to remain the same. God wants us to change He wants us to be a better version of ourselves.

I understand that some people believe that you can come to God the way you are, that is true. But you cannot remain in God the way you are.

God wants you to grow to become a better person. God doesn’t want you to be stagnant.

In the book of Act 13:9, God used Saul but Saul had to change to Paul which is a better version of home Saul.

If you want to be called by God and remain useful in His kingdom, you need to understand some things.

Sometimes you feel like praying but the words don’t come out of your mouth. What should you do in a situation like that?

Christianity is a way of life, it is not just about what you know but it is about putting the things you know into practice.

I’ve found myself in this situation several times and it can happen for so many reasons.

This happens to me mostly when I’ve prayed about a matter for a long time and in the end, things don’t turn out the way I want.

I usually find it hard to pray in seasons like this because I do not know what to say.

But now, I’ve been to come up with a solution on what to do when I don’t feel like praying.

Sing praises to God

” Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.”

Psalms 100:4

One of the best ways to get into the presence of God is by singing praises to Him. When we sing praises to God, we gain access to His courts, which means we move to a deeper level of relationship with God.

Your friend will be willing to do anything for you.

Self-discipline simply means having the ability to control yourself when you are tired or weak.

One of the hardest things to do in life is to stay focused on a task but self-discipline helps you stay focused on your goals.

Self-discipline can also mean doing activities that you do not love doing but those activities are beneficial to you.

For example, watching TV 3 hours daily does not need discipline but reading your book 3 hours daily needs discipline.

Eating 3 times a day does not need discipline but exercising 3 times a day does need discipline.

By now you should be able to understand the concept of how self-discipline works. Self-discipline is beneficial to you but it is not pleasing to your body. You need to have the willpower to resist things that are not adding value to you

Thanksgiving is a way of showing our appreciation to God for all that He has done for us. It is a time to reflect on our blessings and to be grateful for the people God has put in our lives

Thanksgiving is also a time to remember those who are less fortunate than us. It is a time to reach out to those in need and to help them in any way we can.

Thanksgiving should be our model, it is something we need to do continuously. Thanksgiving should be done only on special days but Thanksgiving should be done every day.

The Bible in Psalm 100 says that “I will enter His gates with Thanksgiving in my heart

This goes to show that the best way to get God’s attention is by thanking Him for all that He has done.

A lot of people focus on the things that God has not done for them and instead, forget about the things that God has done for them.

The truth of the matter is that God blesses us every day even though we are aware or not.

Money and cars are not the most important blessings of life. There are things that money cannot buy.

Money cannot buy peace, money cannot buy joy, money cannot buy true love and money cannot buy life.

One of the biggest blessings God has given to us is the opportunity to be alive.

The Bible in Ecclesiastes 9:4 says “For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.”

This goes to show that being alive is a blessing and it allows you to do and achieve more.
